Turn It Down Thursday!

Welcome to Turn It Down Thursday! Our society just seems to continue to "turn up" which is necessary in the right atmosphere but too much of it, as in now, can be overwhelming. For me, the commotion and the noise begins early in my day when I turn on the television, check my social media or even open my front door. This stimuli can wreak havoc to our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual natures. What techniques do you use to change your outlook or prospective?

Have you ever heard of grounding exercises? To be grounded means you pay attention to not only yourself but what is going on around you. Being anxious, impatient, stressed, and irritable all of the time can lead to serious health problems. These symptoms can suppress your immune system, upset our digestive and reproductive systems, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, and speed up the aging process.

When you begin to have that overwhelming feeling, do this simple exercise called 5 4 3 2 1. This will allow you to get out of the moment with worrying or thinking about the issues going on around you for a brief moment and it will allow you to remind yourself that you are confident in your decisions, you are solid with who you are and you are sure of yourself. #SPEAK2MYHEART
