History

PREPARE YOUR EYES TO READ AND YOUR HEART TO RECEIVE AS YOU TAKE IN THE WORDS THAT LOOK TO CHANGE LIVES, RENEW HEARTS, AND OPEN MINDS. Lately, I have seen and heard people state that they are not in competition with anyone except themselves, and although I like that mentality, what are the stipulations or rules to see if you are winning? Could it be that you have more money now, you have lost or gained weight, you are in a better relationship, or maybe you have fewer bills? What makes you a winner, and how far do you go back in your past for comparison? Using our hindsight to review our history is necessary to understand our present and future. History is the study of past events, particularly in human affairs or the whole series of past events connected with someone or something as defined by Oxford Languages. Your historical events can include memories, collections, people, situations, and interpretations. Knowing and understanding your history is vital to not repeating or avoiding present and future mistakes. Some notable history quotes include: "We are not makers of history. We are made by history." Martin Luther King Jr. "History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and our common humanity, so that we can better face the future." Robert Penn Warren. "The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future." Theodore Roosevelt.

Discussions concerning historical events and people are a topic of debate within the educational system. Your opinion on the subject would depend on which political party you support, your race, or how attached you are to the topics they are or are not currently teaching. Your beliefs are your own, and I pray that you have an open and honest discussion about past events with the children within your homes. For this post, I want you to look and reflect on yourself.

Have you grown mentally, speak differently, changed your image, or are you wiser in your decision-making process? Your hindsight of previous circumstances should guide and lead your insight to handling the problems you are facing now by allowing a higher level of thinking to resonate with your decision-making process. If you continually go back and seek out negative behaviors, people, or relationships, I will challenge you by saying that you are currently losing to your old self. Once you have reviewed your hindsight (past), then you will be better prepared to deal with your insight (present), which will allow your foresight (future) to give you victory over your past self, making you a winner. So take the time to identify the relationships that are not good for you, the people that prey on your downfall and demise, the situations that put you in an awkward position that might have you telling lies, stealing, or killing and cut it loose. Start discovering, utilizing, and embracing your history so you will be able to go through, over, and beyond the destination of a better you. #SPEAK2MYHEART "Your future is not a destination; it's a decision."
